A shot from the 2001 RPI reunion:

Wow, I never would have recognized Jeff from that picture.
Things are the usual middle-aged-bullshit-way-too-damn-busy stuff.
Lots of work lately. Went to Malaysia in February followed by March being 6 days
a week,12 hours a day. Trying to get some yard work done but way behind.
Discovered we were spending more money per month than I made so we are on a
rather restrictive budget (how this can happen when I make this much, I'll never
know... well, actually I do know - married life has made tons of things
"necessities" - two cell phones, two land lines, freezer in the basement, blah,
blah blah).
Katherine is excellent. She's three but often mistaken for 5 due to height and
vocabulary. She is hitting a rather annoying "I want it NOW!" phase. I'm in a
"talk that way and get it NEVER!" phase. The yin and yang of parenthood.
Actually played a miniature game last week for the first time in more months
than I can count. Looking forward to the 4th of July week as they are shutting
down the plant that week. Hopefully I can keep the project close enough to
on-track to actually take it off. I really need some veg time.
Have been sneaking in a lot of reading. Since Christmas I've read 5 books (which
is rather good for me). Read Vampire$ and Armor, both by John Steakly. Vampire$
was turned into Vampires, Inc by John Carpenter which missed a lot of the better
stuff in the book due to budget. Armor is an interesting guy-in-powered-armor
story who doesn't like to fight but he's just too good at using powered armor.
Also read a number of fantasy books from the GamesWorkshop mythos. Probably will
read a book on Eisenhower next.
That's about it.. hope all is well with you and the family!

Hangin' on!
Currently running two projects (or perhaps one huge project with two release
phases) and it sucks up a lot of time.
Everyone is well. Katherine just finished Pre-K. She's very eager for
kindergarden. Has a summer full of dance classes, reading classes, "camp"
(local half say play time), etc. Kristin is chauffer.
My summer vacations and weekends consist of gutting and rebuilding two
bathrooms.
I snuck in a weekend trip to WonderFest in Louisville, KY. It's a garage kit
convention (large scale figures and busts, low production runs, usually
produced in resin - sci fi, fantasy, horror subjects are typical). My friend
Colonel Mike Hall (ret) from FL met me there and we had a great time. Got to
see The Time Machine on a big screen, very cool.
Plan to go to Historicon, a miniature gaming convention in Lancaster, PA in
July.
I get to paint an hour or so every other night.
Have gotten some good reading in -
The Long Goodbye by Raymond Chandler
Anubis gates by Tim Powers
On Stranger Tides by Tim Power
First Meetings by Orson Scott Card
That's about it!
How's everyone else? Next year will be another reunion for the class of '81.
Are we going to try for a repeat of 4 years ago?
And how come when I "reply all" I get a bounce message from Brad?
Later,
Marty
