Starting with the pets, because they are
so dang cute. |

We took Paul and Carol to the Aquarium. Despite the limited number of tickets to minimize congestion, it was still pretty congested (pictures to the contrary). But still fun. |

Noah and Maddy came out to visit for a few days. Below, dinner with Paul and Carol at 80 Thoreau. |

We visited Aidan's folks, Judy and Richard, at their new house in Scituate. Who knew it was dubbed "The Irish Riviera?" It was a little chilly, but we had a nice walk from their home down to the harbor and back. |

We spent a weekend in Maine with the pets at Rick and Elizabeth’s cabin near Acadia National Park (the mainland part of it). Along with the pre-requisite boat ride around Jones pond with its beaver lodges, bald eagles, loons, and spectacular sunsets, this trip included a trip to the Coastal Main Botanical Gardens to see the “Guardians of the Seeds,” an exhibit of giant trolls made from recycled wood by the Danish artist Thomas Dambo. That was, for Alison, Elizabeth and Rick’s mom Sandy. Dave and Rick stayed in the camp to watch the pets and do manly things like axe throwing and sitting on the deck drinking. |

And ending on a high note, Brie's wedding, which was fairly awesome for a covid-replanning scenario. Brie and Aidan were originally planning a wedding in Ireland in a castle. But it was cancelled because of covid in 2020, and then again this year, so they decided to do a smaller ceremony here and do the Irish Castle as a year-later party. It was just immediate family at the 1795 Inn in North Conway, NH. The inn was, in fact, a rental, so we had a 17 bedroom inn with a industrial strength kitchen and a attached tavern with a bar to ourselves. We spent a long weekend there with Brie, Aidan, Aidan's folks Judy and Richard, Aidan's brother Kevin, Will and Carly, Maddy, and Noah. The weather was mostly overcast and rainy all weekend except for the wedding, where it cleared up, which we take as a sign that we will have a half a dozen grandchildren from the marriage (most signs point that way from our perspective). The wedding on May 29th was simple, Brie was stunning, and Aidan had matching electric blue scooby-doo socks. It couldn't have been more perfect. After the wedding there was dancing, drinking, and board games. You can see all the wedding photos (that we have) here! |
